Young people on a ski break in Dizin, which at 12,000 feet is one of the world's highest ski resorts. Only an hour's drive from Tehran, it is Iran's main ski attraction. After the 1979 revolution, the ruling clerics closed down Iran's ski resorts, but they were reopened in the mid-1980's. when slopes for men and women were separate. Today, there are still signs warning men not to look at women who are not relatives. Dizin attracts legions of well-heeled youths every week-end, and many of them openly flout the rules as they take to the slopes. IRAN - March 2006.
